April Singles Roundup Playlist

As we transitioned from winter into spring, we got to see a lot of our favorite artist release new music last month. April contained many great singles from up-and-comers like Melodik Tribe, Noname, and Benny Nice.  The LA based trio Melodik Tribe,  truly shine on their new single “GLOH.” With a nostalgic early 2000s feel and a laid back flow, this group is bound to blow up. This past month also contained many hot singles from big named artists like Chris Brown, Young Thug, T-Pain, The Game and Snoop Dogg. Chris breezy and thuggery actually link up with Young Jeezy to deliver a fiery hot “Wrists (Remix).” Nothing can match Chris Brown’s beautiful vocals with the help of ad-libs from two of the best in the game. Thugger has been working over time lately with his name appearing three times on this playlist while just coming off the release of his recent album I’m Up. “Digits,” which features Meek Mill, is a classic trap hit with booming bass and loud snares snapping on the beat. Trap rap fans will have plenty to listen to with Thug working this hard.

Music fans all around the world were heart broken this past month with the death of music legend Prince. Many of these music fans being rappers and producers in the hip hop community. As a result, two tracks are in tribute to Prince’s legacy on the playlist. Statik Selektah and The Game both put out tracks to pay tribute to the legend. Selektah returned to the single he made with rapper Saigon back in 2009 that samples Prince’s “Do Me, Baby” for an incredible rework. The Game teamed up with singer Lorine Chia on “Rest In Purple” to honor Prince’s impact on their lives.

This past month had a lot of dope new music, but only our favorite singles made it into our April Singles Roundup SoundCloud Playlist. Check out the playlist below and follow True Too to not miss any new tracks.
