When you hear the name Damian Lillard, you would think of the crazy clutch shots he hits on a regular basis for the Portland Trailblazers. In respect of his abilities on the court he was just awarded a new contract with a generous raise of 125 million over 5 years. For being 24 years old that’s pretty good if you ask me. Despite the confusion going on with Portland’s “messy” off-season, and with losing 4 of their starting 5 (Robin Lopez, Lamarcus Aldrige, Nicholas Batum and Wes Matthews), one thing is for certain…
Damian Lillard can RAP!
We all know about #4BARFRIDAYS and the famous Sway In The Morning Freestyle which we witnessed him destroying the classic beat “Dead Presidents.” On the mic he is known as DAME DOLLA (Different on Levels the Lord Allows) and just dropped a new track on his soundcloud called “Soldier In The Game.” Dame is for real, this ain’t a joke and this ain’t a fluke. Watch out for his album dropping soon.
Last year in March, he gave Chris Haynes of Comcast SportsNet his thoughts on his first unreleased album.
If my profile continues to increase, I think I can go platinum with my music. Not to knock anybody else who has done it, but I can actually rap. I have a story to tell. It’s not going to just be about basketball. I have more content than that. With the way I know I can get down, and the producers that I’ll align myself with, there’s no reason not to think I couldn’t go platinum. Shaq proved it’s possible.
The Oakland baller/rapper has never lacked confidence whether it’s on the mic or with the rock. Watch Dame destroy Futures “F*ck Up Some Commas” while rapping about his come up and name dropping Steph Curry and Westbrook.
