Get Noname on the Phone!

Its been a long time coming but don’t worry, the wait is finally over. Chicago emcee Noname has finally dropped her long awaited project Telefone. Noname is a Chicago emcee who has appeared in many notable projects providing  thought provoking and very introspective raps. Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap, Mick Jenkins’ The Water[s] and Kirk Knight’s Late Knight Special are just some of the notable projects that Noname has been featured on and her popularity has risen dramatically since. Over the last two years, a lot of new artists are coming from Chicago and repping the city hard by ushering in a regeneration of neo soul and rap. Two genres that notable artists like Kanye West and Common have built their careers off of before venturing off into other genres. Noname follows a similar path with tracks like “Open Apology” where she exchanges bars with Saba over a very melodic and hypnotizing beat. Whether or not a tour will follow to promote this tape is unknown for now but let’s keep our fingers crossed! Listen to Nonames first debut project Telefone below!
