Vince Staples Tells the President to Suck His D*ck on New Track “BagBak”

Any day is an instant winner when Vince Staples releases new music.

Fresh off the release of his EP Prima Donna last August, Vince Staples dropped a new single yesterday for his fans called “BagBak.” The track begins with a fast-paced hi-hat peppered with deep synths over an 808. The instrumental is quintessential Vince Staples. It almost feels as if I am in a hacker montage scene cracking the codes through an “unbreakable” firewall.

That is, until Vince starts rapping.

One word that describes Vince Staples’ rhymes is consistency.

Vince brings the heat with allusions to fancy cars, several play on words, and a host of complex terms to showcase his underlying intelligence. It has essentially come to the point where hip hop fans can wholeheartedly expect Vince to spit fire bars in sync with with rhythm, and actually drop knowledge. “BagBak” is no exception. This classic cloudy banger visibly speaks on social commentary and his resistance to the evil one per-centers; most notably illustrating Vince’s black pride and calling out prejudiced institutions:

We need Tomikas and Shaniquas in that Oval Office
Obama ain’t enough for me, we only getting started
The next Bill Gates can be on Section 8 up in the projects
So today, love my dark skin

Tell the one percent to suck a dick, because we on now
We on now, we on now
Tell the one percent to suck a dick, because we on now
Tell the government to suck a dick, because we on now
Tell the president to suck a dick, because we on now

Vince weaves in and out of the beat with his brazen rhymes calling out the sinister in power. As such, “BagBak” further confirms his ability to select beats that complement his style perfectly; gritty but genuinely conscientious.

So what’s next for the North Side Long Beach rapper? Hopefully a new album this year. But until then, we will have to settle with his upcoming tour: The Life Aquatic Tour with Kilo Kish.
