With Australian hip-hop on the rise, Remi “REMi” Kolawole is a refreshing 22-year-old Melbourne rapper pioneering the perception of hip-hop from down under with his J Dilla inspired, soulful sound.
Coming off a hot 2015 which saw REMi take home an AIR award for Independent hip hop Album of the Year with Raw X Infinity, it’s obvious that REMi doesn’t plan on slowing down. The Melbourne rapper’s new track, “For Good,” features Sydney artist Sampa the Great on the same wavelength as Anderson .Paak. This is a pleasant bite of sound that fits right into the whole Spring weather vibe. “For Good” is the first single from his forthcoming LP titled Divas And Demons.
Catch REMI and Sampa The Great open up for the legendary Kendrick Lamar tonight at Allphones Arena in Sydney.
