Listen: Sage the 64th Wonder “Indigo”

Processed with VSCOcam with b4 preset

“Freeverse.” declares Sage as he clears his throat and launches into what can only be described as a uniquely poetic mixture of flow and lyricism. A melodic piano sample drifts softly over hard hitting 808’s, curated by Sage the 64th Wonder himself. References to girls from his past, Dragon Ball Z (a staple) and of course Slump Gang 777 make up the core of his lyrics. Despite being a freeverse the tempo that Sage spits with matches perfectly with the production. Chants of “Slump Gang 777” and “Onsol” mixed in together in an almost chaotic way create a refreshing contrast to the instrumental. “Indigo” is an excellent tease as to what we’re going to get from Sage in 2016, and it sounds like it’s going to be next level.
