Arian Asllani, best known as Action Bronson, was born in Flushing, Queens, New York in 1983 to a Muslim Albanian father and Jewish mother. Action Bronson is an American rapper, famous chef and TV personality. He is famous for his excessive usage of marijuana, loud personality and insanely noticeable Queens accent.
Action studied at the Art Institute of New York’s culinary program. He got his start in the hip hop scene after injuring himself while hosting his own online cooking show, Action in the Kitchen. With a broken leg, Action began concentrating on making music.
In 2011 Action independently released his debut album, Dr. Lecter, through Fine Fabric Delegates. Later that year, he followed up with Well-Done, a collaborative album with producer Statik Selektah. Additionally, he featured on Legendary Weapons with his longtime comparison, Ghostface Killah. In 2012, Action released the first Blue Chips mixtape alongside Party Supplies.
Since then, Action Bronson has collaborated with the likes of Earl Sweatshirt, Mark Ronson, The Alchemist, Harry Fraud and Chance the Rapper, among others. In 2013, XXL named him one of their several “Freshman” for the year. Earlier this year, he released his major label debut, Mr. Wonderful, to mixed acclaim.
Action’s raps typically include several references to food and sports and over the top braggadocios. He cites artists such as Kool G Rap, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, UGK, Mobb Deep and Cam’ron as his main inspirations. Additionally, he currently stars in his own television show, Fuck That’s Delicious. The show follows him around the world while he dabs and indulges in various food delicacies.
Action Bronson is a very interesting hip hop artist. The heavy-set rapper turns 32 years old today. Happy Birthday Arian!
