Puffdaddy Shooting Up The Club
Today in Hip Hop history marks the 16 year anniversary of Puffdaddy and Shyne shooting a club up in New York. Puffdaddy and girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were supposed to meet Shyne at a club in celebration of the 21-year-old’s debut album. The motives of the shooting were unknown and left three people wounded. After the shooting, Puffdaddy and Lopez were pulled over and arrested along with two others in the jeep, with NYPD allegedly finding a stolen firearm in the car adding a charge of possession of stolen property. “I do not own a gun. I do not carry a gun. The charges and allegations against me are 100% false, I feel confident that in the next couple of days I will be vindicated and everything will be all right,” said Puffdaddy on the allegations against him.
After spending a night in jail, Puffdaddy was released on a bail of $10,000 and was soon after acquitted from his charges while Shyne ended up in prison for nine years on the counts of gun possession, assault, and reckless endangerment.
