Party and Bullshit - Single Cover

June 29th, 1993

The Notorious B.I.G. released his debut single, “Party and Bullshit”, through Uptown Records in 1993. In addition, “Party and Bullshit” was released as the 4th promotional single for the soundtrack to the 1993 thriller comedy film “Who’s the Man?. The soundtrack included hits from House of Pain, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Mary J. Blige and more.

The phrase “party and bullshit” was inspired by the song “When the Revolution Comes” by spoken word artists The Last Poets, however Biggie use the phrase in a different manner. Biggie used ‘Party and Bullshit’ in a more literal, non-conscious way as opposed to The Last Poets using it to raise consciousness and promote action.
